Middle East Archive, an extension of its digital curatorial archive on Instagram, is known for its spirit that brings images of the old Middle E to life. Collaborating with Lebanese photographer Fouad ElKoury, the book showcases images taken in Oman, Palestine, Egypt, and Lebanon from 1980 to 1997. Interviews with B 018 Club founder Naji Gebran, Contemporary Omani photographer Mahmood Najali, and a historical outline of Egyptian cinema’s Golden Age can be found re-contextualizing the images. By its unique selection of individual photos and overall narrative of four countries never re-grouped together, this photography book shows the true culture of MENA to its citizens, diaspora, and beyond.
