A conversation with Anna Seaman, curator of MORROW collective, on the brave new world of NFT photography
With text by Dalia Hashim, writer, editor, and linguist.
“I don’t think anything is becoming obsolete because of NFTs. I think NFTs are bringing value to digital art, be it new media or photography, because they are finally giving these artists a chance to legitimize and authenticate their work. I see NFTs as an exciting tool for them to be able to reach new buyers. I do know that photography as a practice is increasingly on the rise. As for the addition of animation or sound or other elements to your photographs, you obviously couldn’t do this in the still field. As I’ve mentioned, some artists maintain the “original” or the physical separate by tweaking the physical work so that they can sell it as a print, but they’ll also sell the NFT to add an extra dimension to it.”
